#9 Oilers Beat Panthers 77-68

The 9th-ranked University of Findlay men's basketball team came away with a 77-68 win over Kentucky  Wesleyan College on Jan. 21 in Owensboro, Ky. The win gives the Oilers an 8-1 record on the year with a 7-1 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers shot 50.9 percent (29-of-57) from the floor and made 8-of-18 (44.4%) attempts from behind the three point line. They also dished out 20 assists and only turned the ball over six times in the win.

Senior guard Tommy Schmock paced the Oilers with 17 points, ten assists, and seven rebounds while sophomore forward Nathan Bruns had 15 points and seven boards.

Senior forward Anthony Masterlasco posted 14 points and six rebounds while freshman forward Andrew Owens had 12 points and seven boards.

Sophomore guard Joey Edmonds came off the bench to provide ten points to round out the other Oilers in double figures.

The Panthers were led by Tre Cobbs' 14 points.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Jan. 23 when they travel to Nashville, Tenn. to take on Trevecca Nazarene University for a 5:15 p.m. contest.
