#7 Oilers Host Ohio Dominican & Lake Erie

The 7th-ranked Oilers will be back at home this week to host Ohio Dominican and Lake Erie. They will play the Panthers on Jan. 28 at 7:30 p.m. before hosting the Storm on Jan. 30 for a 3:00 p.m. contest.

Series Information (Ohio Dominican)

The Oilers have posted a 36-8 advantage in the all-time series against Ohio Dominican dating back to the 1969-70 campaign when they were victorious by a score of 87-69.

The Oilers won their only contest against Ohio Dominican last year by a score of 93-73 in Niekamp Arena.

The Oilers trailed the Panthers by a score of 39-35 at the break before outscoring them 58-34 in the second half. Findlay connected on 58.7 percent (37-of-63) of their field goal attempts in the win and also made 12-of-29 (41.4%) tries from behind the three point line. During their big second half, the Oilers made 71 percent (22-of-31) of their shot attempts and canned 8-of-12 (66.7%) attempts from three point range.

Aaron Overhiser led the way with 14 points and became the Oilers 48th player to eclipse 1,000 points scored in a career.

Chazz George came off the bench to provide 14 points while Anthony Masterlasco had 12 points, four rebounds, and four assists.

Nathan Bruns and Tre'Maine Gray also reached double figures with 11 and ten points, respectively.

Ethan Linder nearly reached double figures with nine points to go along with six rebounds while Andrew Emrick had nine points on 4-of-4 shooting.

Series Information (Lake Erie)

The Oilers hold a 28-2 advantage in the all-time series against Lake Erie dating back to the 1988-89 campaign when Findlay was victorious by a score of 84-51.

The Oilers scored three victories over the Storm last season. They swept the regular season series by winning 75-64 at home and 72-64 on the road. They then claimed an 85-69 win over Lake Erie in Niekamp Arena during the first round of the G-MAC Tournament.

In the tournament game at home, the Oilers closed the game on a 21-4 run to pick up the victory.

Findlay hit 32-of-64 (51%) of their shots including a scorching 66 percent in the second half. The Oilers also held a big advantage on the glass, grabbing 43 rebounds while Lake Erie had just 31. 15 of Findlay's rebounds were offensive which led to 17 second chance points.

Aaron Overhiser scored 16 points and grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds while Ethan Linder led the Oilers with 18 points. Tommy Schmock scored 15 points and led the team with five assists and five steals.

Andrew Emrick scored 11 points on 4-of-6 from the floor while Anthony Masterlasco rounded out the Oilers' double-digit scorers with ten points including five rebounds, two assists, and a steal.

#7 Findlay

The Oilers are 5-0 on the season and are averaging 82.8 points per game. They have also rebounded the ball well, grabbing 38.6 boards per contest to out-rebound their opponents by 8.2 per game.

Senior forward Anthony Masterlasco leads the team in scoring at 13.9 points per game while connecting on 67.5 percent of his field goal attempts.

Sophomore forward Nathan Bruns is averaging 12.4 points and 5.6 rebounds per game while senior guard Tommy Schmock is averaging 11.3 points per contest while adding 5.7 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game.

The Panthers are 3-3 on the season with a 3-2 mark in league play. They are coming off of a 72-62 win over Tiffin on Jan. 23.

Sean Marks leads the team at 17.7 points per game while Ethan Haynes is averaging 12.2 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest. Zach Szul (11.3) and Matt King (10.0) are also averaging in double figures for the Panthers as well.

The Storm are 0-5 on the year with an identical record in conference play. They are coming off of a 70-55 loss at Cedarville on Jan. 25.

Jeramie Burge leads the team in scoring at 15.0 points per game while Jacob Plantz and Harrison Riggs are averaging 11.3 and 11.0 points per game, respectively.
