#7 Oilers Beat Storm 83-67

The 7th-ranked University of Findlay men's basketball team cruised to an 83-67 win over Lake Erie College on Jan. 30 in Niekamp Arena. The victory gives the Oilers an 11-1 record on the season with a 10-1 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers shot 50.8 percent (33-of-65) from the floor and limited the Storm to a 37.7 percent (26-of-69) shooting clip. They also held a 41-34 advantage on the boards and came away with eight steals in the game.

Senior forward Anthony Masterlasco led Findlay with 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting while freshman forward Andrew Owens had 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting.

Sophomore forward Nathan Bruns also reached double figures with ten points to go along with six rebounds while junior guard Ethan Linder and junior forward Deven Stover had nine points apiece.

Senior guard Tre'Maine Gray finished with eight points, junior forward Brady Wildermuth had seven, and senior guard Tommy Schmock had six points, five assists, and four rebounds.

The Storm were led by Jacob Plantz and Jackson Burdyshaw, who each scored 17.

The Oilers will now have a day off before playing the Storm again on Feb. 1 at 7:30 p.m. in Painesville, Ohio.
