#12 Chargers Defeat #6 Oilers 82-71

The 6th-ranked University of Findlay men's basketball team fell 82-71 to 12th-ranked Hillsdale College on Feb. 6 in Hillsdale, Mich. The loss gives the Oilers a 12-2 record on the season with an 11-2 mark in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play.

The Oilers shot 50 percent (30-of-60) from the floor, but the Chargers connected on 58.8 percent (30-of-51) of their shot attempts. The Chargers also made 13 free throw attempts in the game while the Oilers only converted four.

Senior guard Tommy Schmock led Findlay with 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting. He also added six assists in the loss.

Sophomore forward Nathan Bruns had 13 points and four rebounds while freshman forward Andrew Owens contributed 12 points and seven boards.

Junior guard Ethan Linder also reached double figures with 11 points while senior guard Tre'Maine Gray scored eight.

The Chargers were led by Patrick Cartier's 27 points.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Feb. 8 when they host Cedarville University at 5pm.
