#12 Oilers Fall at Malone 89-83

The 12th-ranked University of Findlay men's basketball team lost 89-83 to Malone University on Feb. 13 in Canton, Ohio. The loss gives the Oilers a 13-4 record on the season with a 12-4 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers held a 13-point lead with under ten minutes to play in the game, but the Pioneers took over from there as Findlay has now lost three out of their last four games.

As a team, the Oilers shot 52.5 percent (32-of-61) from the floor while the Pioneers connected on 55.6 percent (30-of-54) of their field goal attempts. The Oilers also made 12-of-29 (41.4%) attempts from three point range while the Pioneers were 10-of-23 (43.5%).

Senior guard Tre'Maine Gray led the Oilers with a career-high 24 points on 10-of-14 shooting, which included a 4-of-6 showing from behind the three point line. Senior guard Tommy Schmock also topped 20 points as he finished with 21 points and made 6-of-13 three point attempts in the loss.

Sophomore forward Nathan Bruns reached double figures with 14 points while senior forward Anthony Masterlasco finished with nine points and five boards.

The Pioneers were led by Bryce Butler's game-high 33 points.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Feb. 16 when they host Kentucky Wesleyan College at 3pm.
