#12 Oilers Host Panthers, Travel to Ohio Valley

The 6th-ranked Oilers will have four games this week beginning on Feb. 8 when they host Cedarville at 5pm. They will then host Walsh on Feb. 11 at 7:30pm before traveling to Malone for a 3pm game on Feb. 13. They will end the week at home against Kentucky Wesleyan on Feb. 14 for a 3pm game.

Series Information (Kentucky Wesleyan)

The Oilers hold an 8-2 lead in the all-time series against Kentucky Wesleyan dating back to the 2001-02 campaign when they fell 94-89 in the second round of the NCAA Division II Tournament.

 

Earlier this season the Oilers came away with a 77-68 win over the Panthers on the road as they shot 50.9 percent from the floor.

Tommy Schmock paced the Oilers with 17 points, ten assists, and seven rebounds while Nathan Bruns had 15 points and seven boards.

Anthony Masterlasco posted 14 points and six rebounds while Andrew Owens had 12 points and seven boards.

Joey Edmonds came off the bench to provide ten points to round out the other Oilers in double figures.

Series Information (Ohio Valley)

The Oilers hold an 9-0 advantage in the all-time series against Ohio Valley dating back to the 2002-03 campaign when Findlay came away with a 94-73 win.

Earlier this season the Oilers scored a 97-65 win over the Fighting Scots in Niekamp Arena behind 21 points, four rebounds, four assists, and four steals from Anthony Masterlasco.

Ethan Linder added 16 points and seven boards while Nathan Bruns had 13 points and ten rebounds.

Tommy Schmock also reached double figures with ten points to go along with five assists.

Findlay

The Oilers are 13-4 on the season. Senior guard Tommy Schmock leads the team with averages of 14.2 points, 5.5 assists, and 3.2 rebounds per game.

Sophomore forward Nathan Bruns is averaging 13.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest while senior forward Anthony Masterlasco is also averaging in double figures at 11.9 points per outing.

The Panthers are 10-4 on the season and are led by Tre Cobbs, who is averaging 17.0 points per game. Zach Hopewell and Wyatt Battaile are also averaging in double figures at 14.4 and 11.7 points per game, respectively.

The Fighting Scots are 3-10 on the year and have been led by Keon Claiborne, who is averaging 16.8 points per game. Cameron Shaw (16.4), Parker Black (13.8), and Christian Alley (11.2) are also scoring in double figures on a nightly basis.
