Panthers Top Oilers 76-66

The University of Findlay men's basketball team dropped their third straight game as Ohio Dominican University defeated the Oilers 76-66 on Dec. 11 in Niekamp Arena. The loss gives the Oilers a 5-5 record on the season with a 1-3 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers only shot 40.4 percent (23-of-57) from the floor and connected on a mere 31.8 percent (7-of-22) of their three point attempts. They also struggled from the free throw line, making only 13-of-21 (61.9%) tries. The Panthers meanwhile shot it at a 46.4 percent (26-of-56) clip while connecting on 12-of-25 (48%) three point tries.

Senior forward Brady Wildermuth led the team with a career-high 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting while junior guard Joey Edmonds had 13 points.

Senior guard Tre'Maine Gray finished with ten points, six rebounds, and five assists while junior forward Nathan Bruns had ten points, eight rebounds, and a career-high six assists.

Senior forward Anthony Masterlasco nearly reached double figures with nine points while freshman forward Josh Thorbahn had seven points, seven rebounds, and two blocks.

The Panthers were led by Zach Szul, Mitch Wilkinson, and Alex West who all had 17 points.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Dec. 15 when they host East-West University at 7pm.
