Oilers Cruise to 108-67 Win

The University of Findlay men's basketball team snapped a three-game skid with a 108-67 win over East-West University on Dec. 15 in Niekamp Arena. The win gives the Oilers a 6-5 record on the season.

The Oilers shot a blistering 57.8 percent (37-of-64) from the floor and canned a season-high 14-of-23 (60.9%) attempts from behind the three point line in the win. They also had six players score in double figures as they topped the 100-point plateau for the first time since 2019 when they defeated Carlow University 106-52.

Senior forward Anthony Masterlasco led Findlay with 20 points on 6-of-9 shooting while junior forward Nathan Bruns had 14 points and five assists.

Freshman forward Josh Thorbahn posted a career-high 14 points as he went 4-of-6 from long distance while senior forward Dondre Palmer finished with a career-high 13 points and six rebounds.

Senior guard Tre'Maine Gray contributed 11 points while junior guard Joey Edmonds recorded his first career double-double with ten points and a career-high ten assists. He also added four rebounds and a steal in the victory.

Junior guard Eisley Swaine nearly reached double figures as he tied his career-high with eight points while senior forward Brady Wildermuth finished with seven.

The Phantoms were led by De'Quanii Jackson's 20 points.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Dec. 18 when they play a road game against 13th-ranked Hillsdale College. The game is scheduled to tip at 3pm.
