Oilers Defeat Trojans 81-68

The University of Findlay men's basketball team defeated Trevecca Nazarene University by a score of 81-68 on Jan. 22 in Niekamp Arena. The win gives the Oilers a 12-5 record on the season with a 6-3 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers shot 50.9 percent (29-of-57) from the floor and converted 16-of-18 (88.9%) attempts from the free throw line in the game. They also came away with nine steals and forced the Trojans into 15 turnovers.

Junior forward Nathan Bruns led Findlay with 23 points, eight rebounds, 5 steals, two assists, and a block.

Senior guard Tre'Maine Gray finished with 15 points and five assists while senior forward Anthony Masterlasco had 14 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Junior guard Joey Edmonds also reached double figures with ten points to go along with five assists.

The Trojans were paced by CJ Penha's 26 points and eight rebounds.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Jan. 27 when they have a road game against Cedarville University. The game is scheduled to tip at 7:45 p.m.
