Oilers Advance to Semis | Beat Malone

The University of Findlay men's basketball team knocked off Malone University by a score of 74-66 on March 1 in Canton, Ohio in the opening round of the 2022 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Tournament. The win gives the Oilers a 19-9 record on the season.

The Oilers shot 58 percent (29-of-50) from the floor and limited the Pioneers to a 32.4 percent (23-of-71) shooting clip in the victory. The Oilers also recorded 16 assists, but turned the ball over 19 times in the game.

Senior guard Tre'Maine Gray paced the Oilers with 24 points, six assists, and five rebounds while junior forward Nathan Bruns recorded 14 points and 12 boards.

Senior forward Deven Stover provided a big spark off the bench as he finished with 14 points and seven rebounds while senior forward Brady Wildermuth and senior forward Anthony Masterlasco had eight points apiece.

The Oilers will be back in action again on March 4 when they travel back to Canton, Ohio to face top-seeded Walsh University in the semifinals of the G-MAC Tournament.
