Findlay's Hot Shooting Proves Too Much for Cedarville

Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay men's basketball team snapped a two-game losing streak with a 70-62 win over Cedarville University on Feb. 18. The victory pushes the Oilers record to 14-12 on the season with a 9-9 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). 

The Oilers shot 51.0 percent (26-of-51) from the floor and held the Yellow Jackets to a 36.7 percent (22-of-60) shooting clip. They also outrebounded Cedarville 35-29 and came away with seven steals in the game. 

Senior Nathan Bruns paced Findlay with 15 points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals while senior Deven Stover put up 14 points, four rebounds, and a pair of blocks. 

Freshman Mason Brandt contributed seven points off the bench while junior Andrew Owens, senior Joey Edmonds, and sophomore Josh Thorbahn had six points apiece. 

Jayvon Maughmer led Cedarville with a game-high 20 points. 

The Oilers will be back in action again on Feb. 23 when they travel to Tiffin University for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
