Findlay Moves Up to Fourth at Greyhound Invitational

Noblesville, Ind. – The University of Findlay men's golf team played in the second of three rounds in the UIndy Greyhound Invitational at Purgatory Golf Club on Monday, April 8. After posting a 293 in Sunday's round, the Oilers shot 286 (-2) on Monday to move up one spot into fourth in the event with a 579 (+3). That two-round score is tied for the fifth-best 36-hole score in program history.

Junior Luke Kelly led the way for Findlay, firing a 70 (-2) on Monday to move into a tie for tenth on the leaderboard with a 36-hole score of 142 (-2). On Monday Kelly was +1 through nine holes but made three birdies on the back nine to finish the round two under.

Freshman Tanner Grzegorczyk and junior Sam Griffith each broke par, as well. They both shot 71 (-1) and are tied for 22nd with two-round scores of 146 (+2). Grzegorczyk was as consistent as can be on Monday, making 17 pars and one birdie in his round while Griffith made three birdies, 14 pars, and a double-bogey.

Senior Dylan DeWitt posted a score of 74 (+2) on Monday after shooting a 73 (+1) in the opening round. He now has a score of 147 (+3) for the event which is good for a tie for 29th on the leaderboard. Just behind DeWitt is freshman Caleb Westfall who made four birdies en route to a second-round 75 (+3). Westfall is currently tied for 37th with a 148 (+4).

Freshman Hunter Foltz is competing as an individual and is tied for 22nd with a 146 after shooting a 75 (+3) in Monday's round.

The event will conclude tomorrow with tee times beginning at 9:30 am.
