The University of Findlay men's golf team wrapped up first round action at the 2019 NCAA Division II Midwest/Central Super Regional on May 9 at the Hot Springs Country Club in Hot Springs, Ark. The Oilers shot a 305 on Thursday and are in a tie for 15th at the event.

The Oilers posted 15 birdies on the day, the fourth-best total in the field, and were led by a trio of players who ended their round with a 76. Junior Luke Kelly, freshman Tanner Grzegorczyk, and junior Sam Griffith all carded a 76 in round one and are tied for 43rd at the tournament.

Freshman Caleb Westfall fired a 77 and is tied for 54th while senior Dylan DeWitt recorded a 78 and is tied for 69th.

Kelly led the team with four birdies on the day while Grzegorczyk, Westfall, and Griffth all had three.

The Oilers will now prepare to close the tournament tomorrow with a 36-hole competition. The threat of poor weather over the weekend is forcing teams to play two rounds on Friday.
