Oilers Complete Fall Season with Runner-Up Finish

Dearborn, Michigan- The University of Findlay men's golf team finished up their fall portion of the schedule by taking second place at the Motor City Invitational on Oct. 14 at the TPC of Michigan. The Oilers fired a 36-hole score of 603 (305-298) at the tournament to finish runner-up to Wayne State University, who hosted the event.

The Oilers were paced by senior Luke Kelly, an all-tournament team honoree for his third place finish. Kelly finished the tournament 1-over par with a 145 (72-73). Sophomores Caleb Westfall and Hunter Foltz tied for 18th as they each carded a 153. Westfall shot a 76 in round one before posting a 77 in round two while Foltz scored an 80 on Monday before firing a 73 on Tuesday.

Junior Parker Haynes carded a 158 (77-81) to tie for 34th and senior Sam Griffith posted a 160 (85-75) to tie for 40th. Sophomore Tanner Grzegorczyk also competed for Findlay and finished in a tie for 14th after shooting a two round total of 152 (78-74) as an individual competitor.

The Oilers will have a few months to prepare for their first spring tournament of the year on March 14-15 in Georgetown, Ky. for the Saginaw Valley State Spring Invite.
