Oilers in Fourth at Findlay Spring Invite

Lexington, KY- The University of Findlay men's golf team finished the first two rounds of the Findlay Spring Invite on Monday, March 29th with a 36-hole team score of 572 (-3). In the first round, the Oilers fired a two under par team score of 286 then followed up with a second round one under par score of 287. The Oilers are currently in fourth place out of 17 teams heading into the third and final round tomorrow.

Playing as an individual for the tournament and tied for 4th through two rounds is senior Brock Kehres. Kehres is currently four under par for the tournament after a round one 71 (-1) and a sub 70 round of 69 (-3) at the UK Big Blue course. His 36-hole score is now tied for 5th best in program history relative to score. He leads the tournament with 29 pars out of the 36 holes along with an eagle in the second round.

In a tie for 10th is senior Luke Kelly and freshman Donnie Professori. They each shot a 36-hole total of 142 (-2) along with a pair of one under par 71's in the first two rounds. Kelly currently sits in second for most pars made thus far in the tournament (28) in the 36 hole stretch while Professori has a total of seven birdies made for the tournament.

Following behind them was fellow freshman Justin Atkinson who remained consistent throughout the two rounds of play with an even par total of 144. After a first round of 72 (E), he followed up with another even par 72. He enters the final round in a tie for 20th.

Also playing as an individual for the Oilers is junior Hunter Foltz who sits in a tie for 26th with a 36-hole total of 145 (+1). He was consist and had the third most made pars through 36 holes with 27 made pars. He tallied a first round score of 72 (E) and ended the afternoon round with a 73 (+1).

Next for the Oilers was junior Tanner Grzegorczyk who fired rounds of 74 and 73 for a two round total of 147 (+3). He currently sits in a tie for 33rd overall. Senior Parker Haynes also is in a tie for 33rd. He shot an even par round of 72 in the opening round and ended the second round with a 75 (+3).

Round out the Findlay players playing at the Findlay Spring Invite is junior Caleb Westfall, participating as an individual in the tournament. Westfall is in a tie for 53rd after a two-round total of 151 which included a first round score of 74 (+2) and a second round score of 77 (+5).
