Oilers in Sixth Place at Ken Partridge Invitational

Nobelsville, IN- The University of Findlay men's golf team were back on the course in wi competing in the Ken Partridge Invitational on Monday, April 12. The Oilers played 36 holes in the day to complete a two round total of 597. In the first 18 holes, the Oilers scored a 299, then followed it up with a 298 in the final 18 of the day. Their team score puts them in sixth place overall heading into the final round tomorrow. The Oilers are just five strokes off the team lead in a close contested leaderboard. In a field of 18 teams, the top ten teams are within at least eleven strokes or closer of one another.

Freshman Justin Atkinson led the way for the Oilers with a 36-hole total 146 (+2), good for a tie in sixth place. Atkinson tallied a 72, even par and then a 74 (+2).

Senior Luke Kelly and junior Tanner Grzegorczyk are tied for 23rd after shooting a two-round total of 150. Each of them shot a round of 76 (+4) in the first round and bettered themselves in the second round with a 74 (+2).

Senior Brock Kehres and freshman Donnie Professori are in a tie for 69th with a total of 157. Kehres tallied a first round of 75 (+3) and then a 82 (+10) for the second round. Professori scored an 81 (+9) in round one and followed up with a 76 (+4).

Playing as individuals are senior Parker Haynes and junior Hunter Foltz. In a tie for 12th after two rounds of 74 (+2), Haynes shot 148. Foltz fired rounds of 79 and 77 for a 156 total and in a tie for 63rd.

The Oilers will take the course for one more round tomorrow, April 13 to make a run at the top of the leaderboard. The final round is set to begin at 9:00 a.m.
