Oilers Take Runner-Up Honors at Arendsen

The University of Findlay men's golf team opened their 2021 fall campaign with a runner-up finish at the Arendsen Invitational at the Meadows in Allendale, Mich. The Oilers finished the three-round tournament on Sep. 6 with a 54-hole score of 862 (+1), the second lowest mark in school history.

Senior Tanner Grzegorczyk and sophomore Justin Atkinson led the way and were both named to the all-tournament team. Grzegorczyk ended the tournament in third place after posting a 3-under par score of 210 (70, 69, 71) while Atkinson tied for fifth with a 1-under par score of 212 (70, 71, 71). Grzegorczyk also finished second overall at the tournament with 13 birdies while Atkinson posted 12.

Senior Parker Haynes tied for 13th with a 4-over par score of 217 (70, 76, 71), sophomore Donnie Professori tied for 22nd with a 223 (74, 77, 72), and freshman Jonathan Green tied for 50th with a 232 (76, 78, 78) to round out the Oilers team score.

Individually, senior Caleb Westfall tied for 47th with a three-round total of 231 (73, 82, 76) while senior Brock Kehres tied for 59th with a 236 (84, 75, 77).

The Oilers will be back in action again on Sep. 11-12 in Saginaw, Mich. at the Al Watrous Invitational.
