Oilers in Fourteenth at NCAA Championship

Detroit, Mich.- The University of Findlay men's golf team concluded round two of the 2022 NCAA Division II National Championship with a 309 (+21) on May 17 at TPC Michigan. The Oilers are now tied for fourteenth with a two-day total of 614 (+38). They are 24 shots shy of the leaders, the University of Indianapolis and 18 shots shy of the cut line.

Leading the Oilers at the event is sophomore Justin Atkinson. Atkinson recorded a seven-over par, 79 today, after shooting an even-par round yesterday. He is now seven-over par for the tournament and tied for thirteenth. 

Following Atkinson is senior Parker Haynes who paced the Oilers today with a three-over par round of 75. He now sits at ten-over par, putting him in a tie for 60th. Senior Tanner Grzegorczyk came in at seven-over par, finishing with a 79, putting him at eleven-over par for the tournament and in a tie for 67th. Senior Brock Kehres and sophomore Donnie Professori rounded out the lineup for Findlay. Kehres finished at five-over par, carding a 77. Meanwhile, Professori came into the clubhouse at eight-over par, finishing his round with an 80. Both Kehres and Professori are thirteen-over par for the event and are tied for 73rd. 

The Oilers will be back in action tomorrow for the final round of stroke play. The top eight in the standings after stroke play will advance to match play. Match play will then crown the National Champions.
