Oilers in Fourth at Doc Spragg Fall Invite | Trail Leader by Two

Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay men's golf team kicked off their annual Doc Spragg Fall Invitational today, Monday, Sep. 19 at Findlay Country Club. The Oilers shot rounds of 283 (-5) and 278 (-10) to leave them at -15 for the tournament and in fourth place. They trail Grand Valley State by two and Missouri- St. Louis and Wayne State by one.

Leading the Oilers was senior Caleb Westfall. Westfall carded rounds of 68 (-4) and 70 (-2). He is six-under par for the tournament and is in fifth place, seven shots behind the leader. Westfall has history at the event, finishing second two years ago while playing on Findlay's "B" Team. He moved forward today, carding twelve birdies, six in each round. Westfall averaged 3.85 on the par fours and 4.63 on the par fives.

Following closely behind Westfall was junior Donnie Professori. Professori started the day slow and steady, carding an even par round of 72. It was the second round this afternoon where Professori started to dial in. He birdied back-to-back-to-back holes to open the round before carding another four. Professori fired a 67 (-5) to finish the day at five-under par and in a tie for sixth.

Tanner Grzegorczyk had two consistent rounds of 71 (-1) to leave him in a tie for 16th at two-under par. Tyler Vallee, who is making his debut in the starting lineup, carded back-to-back rounds of 72 (E) to finish the day at even par and in a tie for 30th. Rounding out the Oilers lineup was senior Hunter Foltz who shot rounds of 76 (+4) and 70 (-2) and sits in 38th place at two-over par.

The Oilers have three total teams competing. Findlay's "B" Team is currently in 16th at 21-over par (597). Findlay's "C" Team is tied for 11th at six-over par (582).
