Bio

Justin Roth is entering his fifth year as an assistant coach at Findlay during the 2022-23 campaign.

In 2021-22, the Oilers women's golf team made history as they won the 2022 DII National Championship. That win capped a spring season in which the team won all eight tournaments in which they played. Findlay's men also had some history of their own as they made a trip to the DII National Championship tournament for the first time in program history.

During the 2020-21 campaign, the Oilers women's golf team reached match play at the NCAA Division II National Championship and finished tied for fifth overall. They won a G-MAC title and finished the year ranked fourth in the nation. The men's team meanwhile advanced to the regional and were nationally ranked for the majority of the season.

Before the 2019-20 season was cut short due to COVID-19, the Oilers golf programs each reached their highest national rankings in program history. Findlay's women were ranked as high as third in the country during the season and were the favorites to win their third consecutive G-MAC championship. The men were ranked 22nd in the country, the first time the program had cracked the national poll, and were also ranked second in the region. In the fall, the Findlay men won three tournaments while the women won two.

During his first year on staff, Roth was instrumental in leading both golf programs to great success during the 2018-19 season. The women's team finished in a tie for fifth at the NCAA Division II National Championship and won both the regional and conference titles. The men's team meanwhile finished as the runner-up in the league championship and finished 18th at the regional.

Roth was a four-year letter winner at the University of Findlay from 2014-2018. He received his undergraduate degree with a Bachelor of Science in May 2018 before accepting his position as the Assistant Coach in July 2018.

As a player, Roth earned first team all-Great Midwest Athletic Conference his senior year, as well as being named a Golf Coaches Association of America All-American Scholar both his junior and senior seasons. During his senior year, Roth helped lead his team to their first conference title in ten years as well as their first NCAA Regional tournament appearance in six years. Roth is currently 7th in all-time scoring average at UF, carrying a career average of 76.98 over his four years.

Before attending UF, Roth played his high school golf at Brunswick High School, where in his senior year he led his team to a conference championship as well as being named the Medina County Player of the Year.

Roth’s hometown is Brunswick, Ohio, just outside of Cleveland.
