Oilers Fall to Trevecca 2-1

Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay men's soccer team went up against conference competitor Trevecca Nazarene University on Saturday, October 5. The Oilers fell to the Trojans by a 2-1 deficit. With the loss, the Oilers move to 6-3 and 3-3 in the conference while the Trojans move to 2-5-1 and 1-3-1 in conference play.

The Oilers saw theirselves fall behind 2-0 in the contest after goals by Michael Martey in the 22nd minute and then another by Reed Coffman after an assist from Bryce-Austin Wahy in the 79th minute. 

Findlay would not go away without a fight when Jack Atkinson found a way to kick one in off an assist by Josh Hales in the 86th minute. However, it would be just late enough that the Oilers would be unable to capture another goal before the final horn.

The Trojans went on to outshoot the Oilers 16-11 and also lead the category in shots on goal by a margin of 9-6. Josh Dickinson led the Oilers in shots taken with four and Atkinson added a pair of shots.

Garrett Arbogast had a game-high seven saves as well.

The Oilers will play their next contest on Thursday, October 10 back at DeHaven Field. The game is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start.
