Oilers Fall in Quarterfinals to Dragons

Tiffin, OH- The University of Findlay men's soccer team took on the Tiffin Dragons in the Quarterfinals of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Men's Soccer Team. The Oilers made an early push in the beginning of the second half, but ultimately fell to the Dragons 4-2. The Oilers season ends with a 3-4-3 record while the Dragons improved to 6-3 on the season.

The Dragons jumped out early on the Oilers by scoring goals in the 8th, 23rd, and the 29th minute of the game to head then into halftime with a 3-0 advantage.

Just as the Oilers demonstrated in other games in the year, the Oilers would not go away without a fight to claw back into the game. In the 48th minute, freshman Nick McCracken score the first goal for the Oilers off an assist from sophomore Garrett Arbogast.

Not even three minutes later, McCracken scored his second goal of the game off an assist from senior Alex Kerstetter to close the lead to 3-2 in the favor of the Dragons still.

The Oilers gave up another Dragons' goal in the 88th minute to secure the quarterfinal victory with a 4-2 advantage.

The Dragons won the shot attempt category on the day with a 20-7 advantage over the Oilers. McCracken and freshman Mitchell Hanosh each attempted two shots.

Sophomore goalkeepers Andrew Boulton and Arbogast combined for six saves in the loss.
