Oilers Fall in Double OT Nail Biter to #21 Cedarville.

The University of Findlay Men's soccer team fell to #21 Cedarville at home on Oct 28 in double overtime by a score of 3-2. The Oilers are now 6-8-1 on the season and 5-6-1 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play. 

Cedarville started the game off with a goal in the 41st minute when Brett Vaughn assisted Jackson Isaacs. That was all the action the first half had to offer.

The second half was a different story with three total goals. The first goal was put into the net by Findlay's own sophomore Nick McCracken off an assist from sophomore Zach Lauron in the 49th minute. Cedarville responded with a goal in the 73rd minute when Jackson Isaacs scored his second goal of the game off an assist from Victor Pomelli. Findlay junior David Hug got in on the scoring action as well in the 79th minute unassisted.

Both teams were held scoreless in the first overtime period by some solid work in goal by both teams. However, in the 102nd minute of the game Cedarville was able to sneak a goal in when Pedro Alvaras scored off an assist from Jake Johnson.

Oilers goalkeeper, junior Andrew Boulton, recorded nine saves in the contest.

The Oilers will be back in action on Oct 30 when they head to Ohio Dominican University to take on the Panthers at 5:30pm.
