Bogart Paces Team On Friday

The University of Findlay men's and women's swimming and diving teams hosted Urbana University and Ursuline College on Friday, November 12. The women's team defeated Urbana 84-15 and Ursuline 84-9. The men's team lost 93-38 to Urbana and won 49-0 over Ursuline.

On the women's side, Ailsa Hershaw set two school records and won three events to pace the team.

She finished first in the 400-yard IM with a school record breaking time of 4:43.38, was first in the 200-yard breaststroke with a school record breaking time of 2:27.10 and also captured top honors in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:09.63.

The Oilers 200-yard medley relay team of Emily Thomas, Tanya Tikhonova, Jillian Herbst and Samantha Reynolds captured first place at 1:58.89 while their 200-yard freestyle relay team of Herbst, Nikki Schnell-McCoy, Reynolds and Sarah Waidel earned top honors at 1:48.98.

Schnell-McCoy was also first in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:07.30) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:23.95), Thomas was first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:58.76) and 100-yard freestyle (54.98) and Tikhonova and Herbst added first place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle (25.67) and 200-yard butterfly (2:19.80), respectively.

In diving, Maddie Bell broke the 11-dive school record in the 1-meter with 404.60 points.

On the men's side, John Bogart took home first place finishes in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:15.81) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:24.26) while David Conti captured top honors in the 400-yard IM (4:35.27).

The Oilers will be back in action again on November 19-20 at the Doug Coers Invitational in Muncie, Indiana.
