Oilers Earn Great Midwest Honors | Carrasco Wins Elite 26

2022-23 Men's All Conference

Owensboro, Ky.- The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) announced its selections for the 2023 men's tennis all-conference teams on Thursday, April 20 at the beginning of the Great Midwest Men's Tennis Championship Tournament.

Findlay, which finished fourth in the regular season, earned two all-conference selections including the 2023 Elite 26 Award winner, senior Octavio Carrasco. Sophomore Luigi Bove also was honored as a second team all-conference selection.

Elite 26 Award

The Elite 26 Award is given out in every sport to the single player whose team earns a berth in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championship Tournament and has the highest cumulative GPA. Findlay's Octavio Carrasco takes home the distinction as he has posted a 3.97 GPA as a Business Administration major. Carrasco was no slouch on the court, as well, as he recorded a 3-2-2 record in singles this season while going undefeated in doubles. This Carrasco's second consecutive Elite 26 Award.

Second Team All-Conference

Luigi Bove led the Oilers this season. He recorded a singles record of 1-4 and a doubles record of 5-3. This is Bove's first all-G-MAC award.

The Oilers face Northwood, today, in the first round of the Great Midwest Men's Tennis Championship Tournament.
