Findlay Crushes Walsh, Oilers Win 11 Straight

The University of Findlay softball team crushed Walsh University 4-0 in the opener and won 8-2 in the second game of the doubleheader on Sunday, April 21 at Anderson Field. Findlay has now won their past 11 games, with their last loss coming on April 6 against Ashland (4-3).

With the pair of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) wins, the Oilers improve to 13-7 in conference play and spot an impressive 25-9 record overall.

Brittany Dauterman pitched a gem in the 4-0 shutout as she fanned four batters and allowed only three hits in her seven innings on the mound.

Carly Borders' homer down the left field line plated both Dauterman and Courtney Dwyer. Borders generated four runs batted in during the opener.

Tawna Whited picked up the win in the second game, allowing two runs on eight hits with a walk. She had seven strikeouts in game two.

Dauterman went 3-for-4 and produced three RBI. Tori Allen added two hits and an RBI.

The Oilers will travel to Ferris State on Friday, April 26, for a doubleheader. Game one against the Bulldogs is slated for 3:30 p.m.
