Findlay Splits Double Header

Clermont, Fla. – The University of Findlay softball team traveled to Florida to compete against Edinboro and Southern Indiana on March 8. The Oilers defeated the Fighting Scots 3-2 in game one, and then fell to the Screaming Eagles 5-0 in game two. The split improved Findlay's record to 8-8 on the season.

In game one, freshman Lyndsey Seamon went 2 for 3 behind the plate, while sophomore Devyn Zuro went 1 for 3 and junior Rebecca Harvey went 1 for 2 and each recorded one run.

Junior Allison Brunner also scored one run for the Oilers.

Seamon pitched 2.2 innings in the win, allowing six hits and two runs. Sophomore Megan Fisher pitched 3.1 innings, recorded two strikeouts and allowed three hits, while freshman Carly Brandon pitched one inning and had two strikeouts.

Brunner went 1 for 3 against the Screaming Eagles, recording the only hit of the game.

Senior Hailey Bryan pitched 4.2 innings for Findlay, recording five strikeouts, five errors, and allowing 10 hits and five runs. Brandon pitched 1.1 innings, had one strikeout and allowed one hit.

The Oilers are back in action on March 9 in Clermont, Fla. where they will face Fairmont St. and Wayne St. in a double header starting at 9:15am.
