5 Oilers Earn All-Conference Honors

All-Conference Team

The University of Findlay softball team had five athletes earn all-Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) honors as the league office unveiled their annual postseason awards on May 6.

Senior Megan Fisher led the way after being named first team all-conference at the utility position. Fisher has hit a team-high .420 on the year and has scored a team-best 24 runs. She is also tied for the team-lead with three home runs and 20 runs batted in. On the mound, Fisher has a 9-8 record with a 2.34 earned run average. She also has struck out 118 batters in 92.2 innings of work.

Senior Caragyn Yanek earned second team all-conference honors as a pitcher as she currently has a 9-3 record with 78 strikeouts in 69.1 innings in the circle.

Senior Dylan Wiley, freshman Avery Shepherd, and junior Caroline Turner were also rewarded for their play this season as each player earned third team all-conference honors.

Wiley is hitting .322 with 15 runs scored and 14 runs batted in, Shepherd is hitting .317 with two home runs and 18 runs batted in, and Turner is hitting .378 with 20 runs batted in.
