Findlay, Ohio - The University of Findlay women's softball team concluded their season on Thursday, May 6 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championship Tournament as they lost to fifth-seeded Tiffin University Dragons in the first round by the score of 4-2, and top seed, Trevecca Nazarene 11-3 in the first consolation game. The Oilers finished the season with a record of 23-18, their tenth consecutive full season that ended with 20+ wins.

Game 1

The Oilers quickly found themselves in a hole against the Tiffin Dragons as they surrendered two runs in the first inning and one more in the second inning.

The orange and black would make their mark for a comeback in the top of the fifth inning as senior Megan Fisher would send a shot into center field that scored junior Gloria Corona. Shortly after that, freshman Avery Shepherd would score on a wild throw to cut the deficit to 3-2.

However, Findlay's run would fall short as that was all the damage they did in the entire game. Tiffin would add one more run in the bottom of the fifth en route to a 4-2 victory.

Senior pitcher Caragyn Yanek pitched six innings for the Oilers, giving up just two earned runs, seven hits, and recorded two strikeouts, and finished the year with a 9-4 record.

Game 2

After losing game one, the Oilers ended up having the face the top seeded Trevecca Nazarene Trojans in their next contest. The Oilers fell behind fast, and were never able to recover, as Trevecca scored three runs in the bottom first to get out to a 3-0 lead.

The Oilers would make matters interesting in the top of the second inning as senior Devyn Zuro blasted a two-run home run that scored junior Lyndsey Seamon

From there, Trevecca would bounce back quickly and score three runs in the bottom of the third, and four runs in the bottom of the fourth.

The Oilers would keep the game alive in the top of the fifth as Shepherd would get senior Jalin Marston home on a routine ground ball that the Dragons couldn't collect. Tiffin would soon end the hopes of a comeback later in the game as they walked off the Oilers in the fifth inning to end the game at a score of 11-3.

Fisher finished the year with a 9-9 record over as she pitched 3.1 innings and gave up eight earned runs, nine hits, and recorded six strikeouts.
