D2CCA Release

Findlay, Ohio - On Tuesday, May 16, the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) announced their all-region selections in the sport of softball. Findlay had one selection as Avery Shepherd earned a spot on the second team.

This season, Shepherd hit a career-best .418 out of the leadoff spot for the Oilers, posting an on-base percentage of .464. She led the team with 64 hits that included 17 doubles, two triples, and two home runs, also collecting 25 RBI in the process. She was a pest at the top of the order, striking out just twice in 153 at-bats.

Shepherd currently has 168 hits in her career, placing her sixth on Findlay's all-time list in that category. Her career batting average of .384 is good for third all-time with still one more season remaining.

Findlay's junior standout is just the fourth player in program history to be named all-region by the D2CCA, joining Megan Demler ('22 / '21), Lexie Hilling ('22), and Rebecca Harvey ('19).
