Women's Swimming Sending 4 to National Meet

The University of Findlay women's swimming and diving program will send four individuals to the NCAA Division II National Championship, which is slated to be held on Mar. 12-16 in Indianapolis, Ind.

Senior Amanda Stiegal, junior Hanna Cederholm, and freshman Christina McFarland were all invited to the event to compete individually while junior Katy Kouvaris will join them to compete as a team in both the 200 and 400-yard medley relays.

Stiegal earned a trip after posting a school record time of 23.33 in the 50-yard freestyle. Her time is the 26th-best mark in the nation. She had a hand in winning four Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) championships this year and has earned NCAA Division II All-American accolades three times during her career.

Cederholm swam to the 23rd-fastest time in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:03.15. She holds the school record in the event at 1:03.03 and is a two-time All-American. She also walked away from the conference championship with four titles.

McFarland, who captured three league titles this season, had the 24th-best time in the 100-yard backstroke at 55.62 while Kouvaris earned All-American honors in the 400-yard medley relay last season and is coming off four victories at the league championship.
