Oilers Outpaced by Northern Michigan in Marquette

Results

Marquette, MI – A day after battling Northern Michigan in a sprint meet, the University of Findlay swimming and diving team again took on the Wildcats on Saturday, Oct. 12, this time in a more standard format with NCAA sanctioned events. As happened on Friday night, Findlay's men and women both fell to the Wildcats, the men losing by a score of 190-91 and the women losing by a score of 199-92.

Men

The Oilers earned a pair of first place finishes on the men's side, both of which came from freshman athletes.

Freshman Jaeger Loran earned a first place finish and nine points for the Oilers in the 100 yard backstroke, out touching the field with a time of 53.52.

Another freshman, Tim Stollings, took first place in the 100 yard butterfly. Stollings won the race with a time of 51.23, just two seconds off the NCAA 'B' cut.

Women

In the 100 yard breaststroke, senior Hanna Cederholm finished in a time of 1:06.90 to earn a victory. She also took second place in the 200 yard breaststroke where she finished in a time of 2:31.52.

Findlay will be back in the pool on Saturday, Oct. 19 when they host Saginaw Valley St. in a dual meet in the Sink Natatorium.
