Stollings Takes Runner-Up Honors in 100 Back

Sophomore Tim Stollings of the University of Findlay men's swimming and diving team captured another All-American honor at the 2021 NCAA Division II National Championship on Mar. 19 in Birmingham, Ala., bringing his total to three at the event.

Stollings, who won the Oilers first NCAA DII title in swimming last night in the 100-yard butterfly, nearly scored another with a runner-up finish in the 100-yard backstroke on Friday. He recorded the top time in the event during the preliminary round at 46.96, which set a new school record, before racing to a time of 47.97 in the finals to finish a mere .2 seconds shy of Delta State's Biulio Brugoni who touched the wall in 46.77.

Stollings and the Oilers incredible run at the event comes to a close tomorrow as he competes in the 100-yard freestyle. He also earned All-American honors in the 50-yard freestyle after finishing 16th with a time of 20.22.
