Garcia Earns Athlete of the Week
Findlay, OH – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) announced their Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week on Thursday, Oct. 28. Findlay's Daniel Garcia has picked up the award after helping guide the Oilers to a victory over 20th-ranked Saginaw Valley State over the weekend, the team's first-ever win over SVSU.
In that dual, Garcia picked up three wins, all of which were top-ten marks in conference history. He won the 400 IM with a time of 4:06.12 and the 100 breaststroke with a 56.20, both of which went down as eighth-best all-time in the G-MAC. He also was a member of the winning 200 medley relay squad that had a time of 1:31.36, fourth-best in G-MAC history.
This is the third time in his career that Garcia has picked up an Athlete of the Week award.
