Men Beat Lewis | Women Split Against Lewis & Hillsdale

Results

The University of Findlay men and women's swimming and diving teams competed at Hillsdale College on Nov. 13. The men came away with a 116-89 win over Lewis University while the women defeated Lewis 133-85 and lost 141-77 to Hillsdale.

On the men's side, Camilo Montano Marrugo had a hand in three wins for Findlay. He won the 100-yard freestyle (46.94) and 50-yard freestyle (21.15) and teamed with Tim Stollings, Angel Margaritov, and Dags Bregis to claim the gold in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:24.58.

Bregis won the 200-yard freestyle at 1:45.31, Adam Hornak was victorious in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:55.39, and Paul Pavala was a winner in the 100-yard backstroke at 53.11.

Daniel Garcia picked up a victory in the 500-yard freestyle at 4:43.94 and Luca Chiandussi won the 100-yard breaststroke after touching the wall in 57.80.

On the women's side, the Oilers 200-yard medley relay team of Sasha Melnyk, Racheling Poling, Edith Somrah, and Sydney Jones won with a time of 1:50.41 while Melnyk also secured an overall first place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (59.52).

In diving, Addi Fleischman scored a victory in the 1-meter with 388.60 points.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Dec. 2-4 at the Calvin Winter Invite.
