Oilers Lead Conference with 29 All-G-MAC Selections
Indianapolis, IN - 40 days after the completion of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championship Meet, the conference announced their 2022 Swimming and Diving All-Conference selections. Findlay led the way, receiving four major awards along with 21 first-team picks, five second-team picks, and three third-team picks.
Men's Coach of the Year
Coach Andrew Makepeace picked up Coach of the Year honors on the men's side, the fifth consecutive time he has earned that distinction.
Men's Athlete of the Year
Taking home his third consecutive Athlete of the Year honor was junior Tim Stollings who helped lead the Oilers to a fifth consecutive conference championship. Stollings helped guide the Oilers men, who finished the year ninth at the NCAA Division II National Championship, by winning seven events at the conference championship meet back in February.
Men's Freshman of the Year
Winning four conference championships was freshman Camilo Marrugo, and for that effort he has been named G-MAC Freshman of the Year. Findlay's first-year standout was critical to the team's success this season and ultimately earned all-American status in four different events this year.
Women's Diver of the Year
On the women's side, freshman Addi Fleischman picked up distinction as the G-MAC Women's Diver of the Year. At the conference championship meet, Fleischman convincingly won both the 1m and 3m events and would go on to compete at the preliminary diving competition, earning her shot at qualifying for the national championship meet.
