Quotes from the Coach

"Last nights elimination was a blast, but we knew the relaxed nature of that event would turn into an intense and stressful meet today, said head swimming and diving coach Andrew Makepeace. "It's always exciting to compete with some of the top teams in the region and nation, especially if we get the chance to prove where we belong."

"However, we left Findlay on Friday being at a disadvantage heading to compete with our former GLIAC foes. We have had a recent string of fluky injury and illness luck, along with some other unforeseen issues that can plague any program. This left us short handed for this weekend, but undeterred nonetheless. Our staff is incredibly proud of the effort despite falling just short on the mens side and the women's side appearing to be lopsided. We have a top 20 women's team and top 5 men's team, only time will show that!  We get another chance to face that NMU squad in less than a month at the Calvin Winter Invite and at full strength, we're dangerous. The squad is following a process that will result in impressive results when the bright lights are on us. In addition, next week will be a different story from many perspectives and I cannot wait to return to the Sink for another impressive showing. We have Lewis, a really strong team from the GLVC and the defending women's G-MAC champion in Hillsdale. Defending the Sink is our priority against the Flyer and Chargers, we plan to ensure that definitively next weekend."

The Oilers will be back in action again Nov. 12 as they will face Hillsdale College and Lewis University. It is scheduled to begin at 2pm.
