Daniel Garcia Earns Athlete of the Week

Findlay, Ohio - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) announced its Athlete of the Week selections for the previous seven days on Monday, Nov. 14. Findlay swimmer Daniel Garcia earned Men's Athlete of the Week following a standout performance in the pool against Lewis University last Saturday.

Garcia won three individual events and was a member of a winning relay to help lead the Oilers to a win over the Flyers. The junior from Bucaramanga, Colombia won the 1000 yard freestyle, an event he has now swam just twice at the collegiate level, with a 9:52.11 and also won the 500 free, just his third time swimming the event collegiately, with a 4:43.68. His third individual victory came in the 400 yard IM where he took first with a time of 4:06.13. He also teammed up with  junior Tim Stollings, junior Daniel Garcia, sophomore Camilo Marrugo, and junior Dags Bregis teamed up to take top spot in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:30.64.

This is Garcia's fourth Athlete of the Week honor of his career and his first this season.
