Oilers Perform at Kenyon College Fast Chance

Results

Gambier, Ohio- The University of Findlay swim and dive teams traveled to Kenyon College for the Kenyon College Fast Chance Invitational. In a last chance meet, the Oilers were at the meet to improve their times from the season for a chance to make it to the NCAA Division II National Championships next month.

Notable Results-

Women

  • Emily Mears-Bentley (Fr.) / Katie Susi (Fr.) / Macy May (So.)- / Troie Grubbs (Fr.)- Won the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:43.41.

  • Emily Mears-Bentley (Fr.) / Troie Grubbs (Fr.) / Macy May (So.) / Sydney Jones (So.)- Won the 200 yard freestyle relay, clocking in at 1:33.29. The time not only meets the NCAA B Standard but also sets a new school record in the event.

  • Katie Susi (Fr.)- Recording a time of 2:17.84 in the 200 yard breaststroke time trials, Susi meets the NCAA B Standard.  

  • Troie Grubbs (Fr.)- Recorded a time of 23.75 seconds in the 50 yard freestyle time trial which meets the NCAA B Standard.

Men

  • Daniel Garcia (Jr.)- Won the 100 yard IM with a time of 50.01 seconds. Finished second in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 20.74 seconds. 

  • Jaden Humphrey (So.)- Won the 100 yard butterfly, clocking in at 49.81 seconds. 

  • Camilo Marrugo (So.)- Finished first in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 1:45.06. His time set a new pool record and meets the NCAA B Standard. Recorded a time of 19.73 seconds in the 50 yard freestyle time trial which meets the NCAA B Standard and sets a new pool record.

  • Randy Keener (Fr.)- Won the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 48.65 seconds. His time meets the NCAA B Standard. Finished first in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 1:50.44. Recorded a time of 48.11 seconds in the 100 yard backstroke time trial to meet a NCAA B Standard. 

  • Tim Stollings (Sr.)- Finished second in the 100 yard IM, clocking in at 50.65 seconds. Recorded a time of 19.97 seconds in the 50 yard freestyle time trial, meeting the NCAA B Standard. Recording a time of 44.91 seconds in the 100 yard freestyle time trial, Stollings meets the NCAA B Standard.

  • Marko Priednieks (Jr.)- Won the 200 yard breaststroke with a mark of 1:58.38, meeting the NCAA B Standard. He then swam the same event in a time trial where he once again met the NCAA B Standard. 

  • Angel Margaritov (So.)- Recorded a time of 1:38.53 in the 200 yard freestyle time trial which meets the NCAA B Standard.

  • Matteo Filippi (Fr.)- Recorded a time of 15:38.13 in the 1650 yard freestyle time trial to meet the NCAA B Standard. He also broke the school record in the event which he had previously set in the Great Midwest Championship Meet.

The Oilers will now await the selections to the NCAA DII National Championship which will be held March 8-11 in Indianapolis, Ind.
