Oilers Kickoff National Championship | Take 12th In 800-Free Relay

Indianapolis, Ind. - The University of Findlay men's and women's swimming and diving teams arrived in Indianapolis, Tuesday, March 7 for day one of the NCAA Division II National Championship. The day featured just two relays- the women's and men's 800-yard freestyle relay.

Findlay's men competed in the event tonight. They took the pool in the first heat of the event as the team of sophomore Angel Margaritov, junior Daniel Garcia, freshman Randy Keener, and junior Dags Bregis competed against the best in Division II. The team finished twelfth in the event with a time of 6:34.46. Their time today broke the program record that was set in 2021. 

The Oilers will be back in action tomorrow as Daniel Garcia, Tim Stollings, Camilo Marrugo, Dags Bregis, Emily Mears-Bentley, Matteo Filippi will all look to qualify for the finals in their given event.
