Navarrete Villegas Named Assistant Swimming & Diving Coach

Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay department of athletics has announced the hiring of Daniela Navarrete Villegas as their new assistant swimming and diving coach. 

"We are super excited to have Coach Dani join Oiler Nation," said head coach Diego Santos. "She brings energy, passion, knowledge, and commitment. I am confident she will make a positive impact on the program!" 

Navarrete Villegas joins the Oilers after a stint at Lewis University where she served as a volunteer coach with the Flyers. Under her assistance, the women's program finished fourth in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship, the highest finish in program history. The Flyers' had seven NCAA Division II National Championship qualifiers, including the first men's relay team in over five years.

Navarrete Villegas swam collegiately at Lewis University for five seasons. She holds the pool record in the 200 freestyle relay. While attending Lewis, Navarrete Villegas was a three time Panama National Team member. 

The Cancun, Mexico native earned her undergraduate degree in sport management before completing her Master's of Business Administration, both from Lewis University.
