Oilers Compete at the Ashland Alumni Open

Results

The University of Findlay men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Ashland Alumni Open today in Ashland, Ohio on April 28.

Men

Junior George Effah ran a 49.02 to earn second place in the men's 400 meter dash. Sophomoer Kurt Grieger claimed fifth in the event, with a time of 50.53.

In the men's shot put, junior Dequan Lovell took second place, throwing for 16.93m (55-06.50).

The Oilers had two athletes place in the top five for the men's long jump. Freshman Martin Etsey jumped for 6.52m (21-04.75) to earn fourth place, while freshman Babafemi Ayeni earned fifth place with a distance of 6.48m (21-03.25).

Freshman Daniel Agbola took fifth in the men's 800 meter dash with a time of 1:59.09.

In the men's high jump, 5 freshman Chris Demler earned a fifth place with a height of 1.86m (06-01.25).

Women

Senior Milani Glass finished first in the women's 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.29.

In the women's 400 meter dash, sophomore Semoy Hemmings ran a 58.35 to earn first place.

Sophomore Hannah Hahler earned second place in the women's shot put with a 14.18m (46-06.25) throw.

In the women's 200 meter dash, sophomore Jenna Shipman took third place with a time of 25.69.

The Oilers 4x100 meter relay team took fourth place in their event. Hemmings, Glass, Aubreah Manns, and Shipman ran a 48.68 collectively.
