Oilers Take Home 6 G-MAC Titles on Saturday

The University of Findlay men and women's outdoor track and field teams wrapped up the 2019 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championship on May 4 in Hillsdale, Mich. The men finished fourth with 99 points while the women took sixth with 54.50 points.

The men were led by Eldred Henry who brought home two conference titles. He won the shot put with a NCAA Division II automatic qualifying and G-MAC record-breaking toss of 66'08.50 and claimed first in the discus with a provisional heave of 172'05.

Xavier Marable won the 400-meter dash with a provisional time of 47.68, which also broke a G-MAC record. He also teamed with Lane Kolb, Gavin Stepansky, and Daniel Agbola to finish as the runner-up with a time of 3:16.94.

Justin Dreyling also brought home a league title in the triple jump, winning the event with a mark of 46'10.00 while Gabe Makin reached the provisional with a fourth place finish in the pole vault at 16'04.75.

On the women's side, Semoy Hemmings took home gold in the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.65 and teamed with Abreah Manns, Hayley Robinett, and Jenna Shipman to take second in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:52.03.

Hannah Hahler captured a conference title in the discus with a provisional and G-MAC record-breaking throw of 152'00. She also finished third in the shot put at 46'11.
