Oilers Track & Field Teams Both Nationally Ranked

Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay men's and women's track and field teams both find themselves ranked in the top-25 in Week 1 of the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) polls. The Oilers men held steady from the preseason poll at 11th in the country while the women jumped 15 spots and have broken into the poll at no. 17.

 Findlay's men have six athletes who have met provisional marks in their respective events. Junior Nick DeHaven ranks fifth in the country in the 3000m run and is eighth in the mile while sophomore Josh Verhoff is ranked fifth in DII in the 200m. In field events, freshman Alex Mutchler and senior Gabe Makin are both tied for fifth in the country in the pole vault.

The Oilers women also have six athletes with provisional marks, three of which are pole vaulters. Sophomore Lindsey Kluesener is second in the country while junior Meadow Cromer is third and sophomore Morgan England is sixth. Sophomore Paige Emnett is ranked 12th in the country in the shot put and is 19th in weight throw while freshman Trista Fintel is currently 16th in DII in shot put in her first season at Findlay. Rounding out the nationally ranked Oilers is sophomore Simone Green who is currently 22nd in the triple jump.

Both teams will be in action this weekend at home as Findlay plays host to the Findlay Alumni Classic.
