Oilers Wrap Up Day One of Jud Logan | Break Two Records

Ashland, Ohio- The University of Findlay track and field teams traveled to Ashland University for the Jud Logan Light Giver Collegiate Open. The Oilers competed in day one today, Feb. 3.

 

Women

The Oilers, who are currently ranked 14th in the nation, were headlined by the Distance Medley Relay team who broke the program record that was set in 2006. The team of sophomore Reilly Cozette, senior Bethany Smith, senior Hayley Robinett, and sophomore Ava Beam clocked in with a time of 11:52.22 which broke the previous record by over two seconds. The team took second in the event. 

Other Notable Finishes

Meadow Cromer (Sr.)- Took third place in the pole vault, clearing 3.65m. 

Jordan Taylor (Jr.)- Finished second in the 200m dash with a time of 25.34 seconds. 

Men

Findlay, who is currently 17th in the nation, were also headlined by the Distance Relay Team. The team of senior Nick DeHaven, junior Jordan Foster, sophomore Simon Derstine, and senior Xavier Marable clocked in with a time of 9:55.76 to break the program record that was set in 2014. The team took second in the event. 

Other Notable Finishes

Keandre Marlow (Sr.)- Is currently in first place in the heptathlon after competing in the first four events today.

Mondra Curry (So.)- Took fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 13.38m which came on his second attempt. 

 

The Oilers will be back in action again tomorrow, Feb. 4, for the final day of the Jud Logan Light Giver Collegiate Open.
