Oilers Compete in Hoosier Hills Open and GVSU Big Meet

Allendale, Mich./Bloomington, Ind. – The University of Findlay men's and women's track and field team competed today, Saturday, Feb 10 in both the Hoosier Hills Open in Bloomington, Indiana and the GVSU Big Meet in Allendale, Michigan.

Hoosier Hills Open

Top Results – Women 

In weight throw Sophomore Trista Fintel placed third with an 18.50m throw. Junior Paige Emnett placed fifth with a 17.47m throw.

In shot put Sophomore Trista Fintel got first place with a throw of 15.06m and junior Paige Emnett placed third with 13.83m.

Junior Simone Green took first place in the triple jump with a result of 11.94m and third place with a mark of 5.70m in long jump

In pole vault junior Meadow Cromer placed fourth and junior Lindsey Kluesener placed fifth both with a mark of 3.87m. 

Junior Bethany Smith took third place with a time of 58.16s and sophomore Taylor Ivory took fifth place with a time of 58.38s in the 400m.

In the 800m senior Hayley Robinett placed second with a time of 2:17.45.

Top Results - Men

In weight throw, junior Max Prenger placed third with an 18.19m throw.

In the long jump junior Elliot Cummings got first place with a mark of 7.32m and sophomore Chris Campbell placed second with 7.12m.

Freshman Kemari Robinson placed fourth in the 60m with a time of 6.98.

In high jump sophomore Shakur Payton took second place with a mark of 2.02 and Junior Cameron Stine took third with a mark of 1.99.

In the 800m sophomore Joe Sadowski placed fifth with a time of 1:58.92.

Men's pole vault swept the top spots in today's competition, senior Gabe Makin took first place with 4.98m, sophomore Alex Mutchler placed second with a mark of 4.88m and sophomore Jacob Michael placed third with a height of 4.73m.

Senior Xavier Marable took second place in the 400m with a time of 48.44s. 

Junior Josh Verhoff placed first in the 200m with a time of 21.60s.

GVSU Big Meet

Top Results – Men

 In the 800m sophomore Simon Derstine placed second with a time of 1:53.65

The Oilers will be back in action next Friday Feb. 17 when they host the Flag City Open.
