Findlay Sends Ten to NCAA DII Indoor Track and Field Championships

Findlay, Ohio- The NCAA has announced the participants for the 2023 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships. A total of 540 participants, 270 men and 270 women, will compete in the championships. The complete list of qualifiers is available here. 

The Oilers will have ten athletes heading to the event. 

Men

  • Josh Verhoff (Sr.)- Verhoff will be the fourth seed in the 200m dash prelims with a seed time of 21.05 seconds. He qualified for the event in 2021. 

  • Xavier Marable (Sr.)- Marable will be the fourth seed in the 400m dash prelims with a seed time of 46.88 seconds. He qualified for the event in 2019, 2020, and 2021. 

  • Jordan Foster (Jr.)- Foster will be the 12th seed in the mile run with a seed time of 4:04.69.

  • Gabe Makin (Sr.)- Makin will be seeded third in the pole vault with a seed mark of 5.27m. He also qualified for the event in 2022. 

  • Jacob Michael (Sr.)- Michael will be the 12th seed in the pole vault with a seed mark of 5.27m. This is his first time qualifying for the championship.

  • Eliot Cummings (Jr.)- Cummings will be the 12th seed in the long jump with a seed mark of 7.47m. This is his first time qualifying for the championship.

Women

  • Lindsey Kluesener (Sr.)- Kluesener will be seeded 11th in the pole vault for the Oilers with a seed mark of 4.00m. She has qualified for the event in 2020, 2021, and 2022. 

  • Simone Green (Sr.)- Green will be seeded 12th in the long jump with a seed mark of 5.99m. She qualified for the event in 2022. 

  • Trista Fintel (So.)- Fintel qualified for both the shot put and weight throw. She is the second seed in the shot put with a seed mark of 15.80m. She is the 13th seed in the weight throw with a seed mark of 18.59m. This will be her first time qualifying for this event.

  • Paige Emnett (So.)- Emnett will be the sixth seed in the shot put with a seed mark of 15.10m. She qualified for the event in 2022.

The 2023 championships will take place on Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
