Findlay's Distance Team Competes at Raleigh Relays

Raleigh, N.C.- The University of Findlay track and field team sent their distance runners to the Raleigh Relays this week to kickoff their outdoor campaign. The event which started today, March 23, features the best competition from around the nation including the top Division I programs.

The night was highlighted by junior Jordan Foster. Foster took the track in the men's 1500M where he set a program record for the Oilers, clocking in with a time of 3:52.19. The previous record was held by Justin Eilerman which was set in 2012. Despite his personal best time, Foster finished in a 112th. 

Senior Nick DeHaven competed in the 5000M, recording a time of 14:44.17. His time is the third best in program history in the 5K. DeHaven finished 153rd.

Rounding out the night for the Oilers was senior Gabrielle Lawrence. Lawrence finished the 10,000M with a personal best time of 35:23.84. Her time meets the NCAA provisional standard.

The Oilers will be back in action tomorrow as Noah Fisher competes in the men's 10,000M at 10pm.
