Findlay Competes at Yellow Jacket Outdoor Invitational

Cedarville, Ohio The University of Findlay men's and women's track and field team traveled to Cedarville on Saturday, March 25 for the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Outdoor Invitational.  

Men's Top Finishers 

  • In the long jump, sophomore Chris Campbell was the winner as he set new facility and meet records with a jump of 7.19m (23'7"). That also establishes a new outdoor PR for Campbell. 

  • Junior Alex Mutchler was the top finisher in the pole vault, taking first with a height of 4.82m (15'9.75"). 

  • In hammer throw, sophomore Orry Willems was the winner, taking first with an NCAA provisional throw of 59.46m (195'1"). 

  • Sophomore Colin Warner was the highest finisher for Findlay in the men's discus throw, taking runner-up with a toss of 47.54 (156'0"). 

  • Freshman Leyton Nossa took third in that event with a 47.24m (155' 0"). 

  • Sophomore Eric Hurtt was fifth as his final throw went 44.60m (146' 4"). 

  • Freshman KJ Upshaw was third in the 100m dash with a 10.85. 

  • In the 200m dash, freshman Kemari Robinson was Findlay's top finisher with a 22.17.  

  • Taking fifth in the 400m dash was junior Hassan Sesay who crossed the finish line in a time of 50.96, a half-second behind the top finisher. 

Women's Top Finishers 

  • Picking up a victory for Findlay in the hammer throw was sophomore Trista Fintel who med the NCAA provisional in the event with a throw of 52.74 (173'0"), the fourth-best throw in the country this season. 

  • Junior Paige Emnett was runner-up to Fintel in the hammer throw as her third attempt measured 51.62m (169'4"). 

  • Sophomore Brooke Coulter's throw of 50.32m (165'1") was good for fourth. 

  • Another win came in the pole vault where junior Lindsey Kluesener looked to be in mid-season form, winning with a height of 4.05m (13'3.5"). That height met the NCAA provisional and also set a new meet record, as well as being just a quarter-inch shy of Kluesener's outdoor PR. 

  • Senior Meadow Cromer was runner-up and also met the NCAA provisional with a 3.90m (12'9.5"). 

  • Taking fourth was freshman Natalie Newton with a height of 3.75m (12'3.75"), good to meet the NCAA provisional, as well. 

  • Senior Hayley Robinett took first in the 400m dash, completing the race in a time of 1:00.43. 

  • Sophomore Kassandra Stine was runner-up in the javelin throw as her sixth and final attempt measured a distance of 35.76m (117'4"). 

  • Sophomore Jessica Hoban took third in the long jump, reaching a distance of 4.98m (16'4"). 

 Findlay will be sending athletes to the Oliver Nikoloff Invite hosted by the University of Cincinnati next weekend, March 31 and April 1.
