Findlay Concludes Gordon Bocock Invite

Williamsburg, Ky. - The University of Findlay men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up their trip south on Saturday, April 8 at the Gordon Bocock Invite hosted by the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky.

Top Finishers 

  • Senior Xavier Marable was a winner in the 400m dash, clocking in a time of 48.21. Coming in third with a 49.35 was sophomore Dylan Reason. 

  • Kemari Robinson, KJ Upshaw, Ethan Pensante, and Josh Verhoff took first place in the men's 4x100 relay, finishing in a time of 40.80, good for an NCAA provisional in the event. 

  • Earning an NCAA provisional and a meet record in the 100m dash was junior Josh Verhoff who finished with a time of 10.42. Robinson came in second with a 10.80. Verhoff later won the 200m dash as well, finishing with a 20.93, setting new meet and school records. 

  • Nicole Fishpaw, Taylor Ivory, Kylie Ray, and Jordan Taylor teamed up in the women's 4x100 and took runner-up with a 46.74, just two hundredths of a second off of the top time and one hundredth off of the NCAA provisional. 

  • Taylor was a winner in the 100m dash with a 12.07 while Fishpaw took runner-up with a 12.27. 

  • Freshman Amelia Mizelle was a winner in the women's 100m hurdles, taking first with a 15.68. Finishing second in that race was junior Kenedi Hayden with a 15.75. 

  • Sophomore Mackenzie Schneider won the women's 800m with a 2:20.68. 

  • In the women's 400m hurdles, sophomore Kylie Ray recorded a time of 1:01.49, good for meet and facility records and an NCAA provisional. 

  • Sophomore Eric Hurtt took first place in the men's shot put. His second attempt sailed 15.50m (50' 10.25") to claim the title. 

  • In women's shot put, sophomore Kelsey Kennon won with a distance of 13.38m (43'10.75") which she achieved on her fifth attempt. 

  • Sophomore Orry Willems met the NCAA provisional and set new facility and meet records in the men's hammer throw, winning the event with a throw of 59.75m (196'0") which he achieved on his first throw. Sophomore Colin Warner was second with a 56.14m (184'2") while senior Max Prenger was third with a 53.60 (175'10"). Junior Zac Belanich took fourth (52.94m | 173'8") and freshman Leyton Nossa was fifth (49.98m | 164'0"). 

  • In women's hammer throw, sophomore Trista Fintel won with a 54.21m (177'10"). That throw is good for the NCAA provisional in the event. Sophomore Brooke Coulter was second with a 51.76 (169'10") while Kennon was third (48.00m | 157'6") and senior Brynlee Hanneman was fourth (44.15m | 144'10"). 

  • Junior Keandre Marlow set a new meet and facility record in the decathlon as he scored 6,207 points. He was a winner in both the high jump and 110 hurdles. Teammate Gabe Clement was second with a score of 5,981. 

  • Sophomore Kassandra Stine finished as the runner-up in the women's heptathlon as she scored 3,988 points. She won both the high jump and long jump portions of the competition. 

Findlay will return to the track for the Tiffin Carnival which will be held in Tiffin, Ohio on April 14-15.
